Vikram Randhawa inaugurates renovated cremation ground

JAMMU, July 17: Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today inaugurated newly renovated cremation ground at Ward No-2, Bhour Camp in Gandhi Nagar Assembly Segment.
While addressing the people after the inauguration, Ch. Vikram said that he was very upset to see the dilapidated condition of the cremation ground when he visited there for the last rites of a prominent person around a couple of month ago.
He said that after seeing dilapidated condition of the cremation ground he had instructed the concerned authorities to prepare a renovation plan.  Randhawa said that he released Rs 5 lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to carry out renovation of the said cremation ground.
Randhawa also appreciated the quality of work done by the contractor and said that such places are sacred where last rites of a person are performed hence they need to be kept neat and clean and fully equipped with all modern facilities. He also urged upon the people to ensure maintenance and proper care of public places and public properties which are constructed or raised up with the taxpayers’ money.
Randhawa further reiterated his commitment to carry forward the slogan, ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’, given by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in true letter and spirit. He said that Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is committed to carryout all round development of every section of the society and in this regard many people friendly schemes have been launched by the Government. He urged upon the people to come forward and avail the benefits of such welfare schemes.
Randhawa further assured the people to construct a bathing ghat adjoining to the cremation ground with modern facilities as the ladies are forced to bath in the open in the absence of such facility. Randhawa has directed the authorities to come up with a plan for the construction of the same and assured the people that whatever amount required for the construction of the same would be provided from the CDF.
The locals present on the occasion appreciated the initiative of the MLC, Ch. Vikram Randhawa and extended him full support in the coming future.
