JAMMU, Oct 22: In order to share grief of flood affected people on the occasion of Deepawali festival, Vikram Malhotra, general secretary, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), distributed blankets at New Company Bagh, near Science College here today.
Mr Malhotra distributed about 150 blankets among the flood affected people. They were identified by by Swabhiman Charitable Trust, an NGO engaged in relief related works.
Speaking on the occasion, Malhotra said that unprecedented floods have brought widespread devastation in the entire State and there is need for immediate redressal of grievances of the affected people without any delay. On this occasion, he also extended Diwali greetings to the people, especially those hit by the recent floods.
