Vijaypur CC outplays Dasal Club by 5 wkts

SAMBA, May 24: Vijaypur Cricket Club defeated Dasal Cricket Club by 5 wickets in the Samba District JKCA Premier Cricket Championship, being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association at Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Ground, Smailpur, here.
Earlier, batting first, Dasal Cricket Club scored a modest total of 112 run in the stipulated 20 overs. Raghubir and Lal Singh contributed 20 and 15 runs to the total respectively.
In reply, Vijaypur Cricket Club chased the target in 15 overs by losing 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Vanish scored splendid 47 runs, while Rajinder Singh contributed 22 runs to the total. Vanish was declared as the man of the match for his superb batting display.
Meanwhile, at District Police Lines Ground, Rajouri, Green Sporting Club Dhangri defeated LOC Doongi Cricket Club in a close contest by 18 runs.
Winning the toss and batting first, Green Sporting Club Dhangri scored 149 runs in 18.1 overs. Atul Kumar top scored with 66 runs, while Neeraj contributed 19 runs to the total. For LOC Doongi Club, Ajay Sagar took 3 wickets and Rajat claimed 2 wickets.
LOC Doongi Cricket Club, in reply managed to score 131 runs in 21.3 overs, thus lost the match by 18 runs. Sahil Sharma (31) and Gora Tara (22) were the main contributors. Prikshant Shandal was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 5 important wickets by conceding 38 runs in his 6 overs, while Sushant Shandal claimed 2 wickets. Prikshant Shandal of Green Sporting Club, Dhangri was adjudged as the man of the match.
