Vigilance produces challan against ex-CMO, BMO

RAJOURI, Jan 25:  Vigilance Organization has produced challan against ex-CMO Poonch, ex BMO Surankote and others in the case of illegal appointments of Class IV employees in Poonch district.
Case FIR No. 13/2015 and FIR No.14/2015 were registered at P/S VOJ for probing into the allegations of illegal appointments of Nursing Orderlies/Safaiwalas against vacant/clear vacancies from time to time by then CMO Poonch and then BMO Surankote without providing equal opportunity and inducing competition by advertising the said posts and other procedures required for the selection process.
During the course of investigations, the criminal liabilities were established against Dr Ashok Verma, then Chief Medical Officer Poonch and Dr Mohd. Akram, then Block Medical Officer Surankote, who in connivance with accused beneficiaries, entered into a well planned criminal conspiracy and by abuse of their official positions with dishonest intentions,   appointed these beneficiaries against the vacant posts of Nursing Orderlies/Safaiwalas.
The accused beneficiaries included Uttam Chand son of  Chain Singh of  Salari,  tehsil Basohli, A/P Mahanpur Kathua; Mohd. Fareed, son of  Mohd. Din of Mankote, Nazar Hussain son of Mohd. Aziz of Gunthal,  Maqsood Ahmed son of  Tufail Hussain of  Samote,  Waqar Qyoom son of  Ab  Qayoom of  Lathoong  and Mohd  Farooq, son of  Fayaz Mohd of  Ward No 8, Surankote. The investigations  proved their guilt and accordingly the cases were closed as challan and chargesheets against the accused persons were  produced in Anti-Corruption Court, Rajouri.
