Vigilance Commission asks DGP to present report

SRINAGAR, Aug 13: Vigilance Commission has issued orders asking Director General of Police to present the report involving complaint regarding abuse of official position by a police officer, through a senior officer to be deputed by him and the officer so deputed shall remain present in person before the Commission on the next date of hearing which is fixed on August 23, 2013 at Jammu.
The case titled Master Balbir Singh v/s DySP Riyaz Ahmad Tantray was received by the Commission from the State Accountability Commission and the complaint addressed to Director General of Police, J&K. The report was asked from Director General of Police following the previous Court hearing of the Commission held on June 24, 2013 which was not submitted to this Commission.
The complainant had alleged that a police officer of the rank of DySP has by abusing his official position created false evidences against the complainant and in the process has also indulged in corruption.
