JAMMU, Jan 24: Vicky XI Kathua defeated Team Bharat Jammu easily in the inaugural match of the T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Jai Baba Santokh Nath Sports and Environmental Council, Smailpur at Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Stadium near Higher Secondary School, Smailpur, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Team Bharat scored a paltry total of 84 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Subash top scored with 11 runs, while none of the other batsmen could cross the double figure mark.
In reply, Vicky XI Kathua achieved the target easily in 10.2 overs. Ashu was the top scorer with 40 runs off 25 balls, studded with 7 fours and 2 massive sixes. He was adjudged as man of the match for his brilliant knock.
The next match of the Championship will be played on January 26, 2017.
