Vibodh inaugurates free eye surgery camp by Rotary Club

RAJOURI, May 24: BJP senior leader and MLC Vibodh Gupta today inaugurated a free eye surgery camp, organized by Rotary Club Rajouri in collaboration with KLSM Hospital Udhampur and District Hospital Rajouri.
During this camp, free treatment to various eye patients from different remote corners of district Rajouri will be provided by the expert doctors. At the inaugural camp, it was informed that so far 300 patients have been registered for treatment and out of these, 135 free eye surgeries will be performed during this camp.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the camp, Vibodh appreciated the efforts of Rotary Club Rajouri for organizing this camp. He said that Rotary is a committed organization and has launched many inclusive and sustainable health initiatives in different parts of the country. This, he said, is a real and great service to the society.
On this occasion, he also gave details of various recent Government initiatives in the health sector. While giving details about recently launched “Ayushman Bharat Yojana” Vibodh said that under Ayushman Bharat Yojana or National Health Protection Scheme, every eligible family will be given Rs 5 lakh insurance coverage benefit per year. He termed this initiative by PM Narendra Modi as the most transformational step in the health sector. He termed such a scheme as historic also, as never ever in the history of India such a beneficial scheme has been launched for the poor and weaker sections of the society. He called upon the volunteers of Rotary Club for their help in creating mass awareness among the common masses about various beneficial schemes launched recently by the Government in the health sector.
Prominent among others, who were present on the occasion, included K K Langer, Rakesh Gupta, Ankur Gupta, Haqeeqat Singh, Rafiq Mir, Amardeep Singh, Amandeep, Ashish Langer, Subash Chander, Dr Sachin, Saboor Malik, Dr Shalinder, Navneet Bari and Parmod Kumar.
Senior staff members of the District Hospital Rajouri were also present at the inaugural programme.
