Vibodh chairs contractors meet, assures redressal of issues

RAJOURI, Jan 28: BJP senior leader and MLC Vibodh Gupta chaired a meeting of the contractors of local bodies and listened to the various problems being faced by them.
During the meeting, the contractors put forth their various problems specially the non-availability of Sub Division Office of local bodies at Rajouri. They demanded that a sub division level office may be made functional with a permanent post of an AEE and a JE. This will ease a lot of problems of the contractor community, they added.
While speaking, MLC Vibodh said that contractors have a very special role in over all development of our cities and towns. “I understand the problems being faced by the contractors of Rajouri” he said and asked the common masses to recognize the services provided by contractors.
He called upon the contractor community to work with more dedication and determination so that quality works can be executed which will go a long way in face-lifting of towns. He informed that face-lifting of towns and cities are on the top priority of the Government and in order to achieve this, the role of contractors is vital.
“Present Governments in the State as well as in the Centre have made a large number of schemes which once implemented will transform all our cities and towns”, he added.
He asked the contractor community to ensure that all the deadlines for the execution of various projects should be met and adhere to transparency and accountability.
Vibodh said that he will take up the issues of the contractors with Director and Commissioner Secretary of the Urban Local Bodies for early redressal.
Referring to various ongoing works for the face-lifting of Rajouri town, Vibodh informed that currently works with an allocation of Rs 3 to 4 crore are being executed in Rajouri town, which will go a long way in overall face-lifting of the Rajouri town.
Vibodh said that bringing quality sewerage and drainage system in Rajouri is one of his dream projects. “I am trying my level best to ensure that problem of sewerage and drainage system of Rajouri could be solved once for all”, he added.
The contractor delegation was represented by Manzoor Malik, Shafaqat Wani, Ishtiaq Bhat, Mohammad Iqbal, Kaka Singh and Farooq Shawl.
Senior BJP leaders including Ashwani Kichar, Kamal Bakshi, Koshal Gupta and Vikas Dutta were also present in the meeting.
