International noose is getting more twisted and whirled to put around the neck of terrorist MasoodAzhar notwithstanding the fact that China has yet again saved Pakistan from getting increasingly embarrassed for being tagged with him as he lives and roams freely in Pakistan and his terror outfit JeM is Pakistan based where he receives patronage from the ISI, Pakistan Army and even Government agencies. The world is convinced about his activities which were deadly against peace , tranquillity and civilized norms and were naturally feeling sore about the brazen misuse of Vetoing power exercised by China , now for the fourth time in a decade in not allowing the United Nations Security Council pronounce officially Masood as a global terrorist. India has expressed disappointment overChina’a decision but it would never get cowed down by such unexpected and protracted decision of China to support even terror in pursuit of keeping the norms of allying with Pakistan for its sheer economic and strategic defence purposes alive.
The options are limited and responsible member states of the Security Council are mulling an option for taking “other actions” against the Pakistani terrorist posing grave threat to countries’ peace and freedom. Various diplomats at the World Body’s principal organ have not taken the stand of China lightly. Following Pulwama dastardly terror attack and the Pakistan based JeM owning responsibility, most of the countries including the US, Russia, France, Australia, Germany etc rallied behind India and not only empathised with us but promised to jointly launch a fight against the scourge. How can China come to the rescue of Pakistan in protecting terrorist like MasoodAzhar while it has been ruthless and hard hearted against thousands of those whom even suspicion of indulgence in terror activities or even promoting radicalisation could not be nursed in its own country and even normal religious activities denied to them but would allow others’ houses burning by indirectly promoting terrorism against them.
If the stance in response to China’s stubborn but queer attitude continues , it should see to it that it would lead that country to an isolation diplomatically as well as in the capacity of being a member of the world community . In a veiled but stern tone , the concerned diplomats’ feelings are nothing less than a warning. The list of terror activities carried out by the terror outfit JeM at the behest and directions of AzharMasood is long, audacious and dastardly executed especially in India all these three decades. Pakistan having got the taste of its sponsoring terror and patronising Masood in the form of air strikes by India last month at the main terror hub in Balakote is indicative of making that country understand that retributive actions shall have to be borne by it and it should not feel very proud to be as much dependent on China for support. The time is not far off when not only “other measures” would be taken against the said terrorist but even the country where he lives and gets patronage from, could be declared as a terrorist country. Regional stability and peace should never beallowed to be disturbed due to any reasons as the same had potentialities of escalation to other regions and continents of the globe.
