Vehicle lifter gang busted

JAMMU, July 4: Jammu police today busted a vehicle lifter gang with the arrest of two persons and recovery of five two-wheelers.
“A police party of police station Miran Sahib while conducting patrolling near Dak Bungalow (Miran Sahib) saw two persons coming from village Dharap towards Marallian (Miran Sahib) on a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AS-4754. However, seeing the police party, they tried to escape from the spot”, police sources said.
They said on their suspicious movement, the police party chased them and apprehended both of them who were identified as Balwant Raj son of Ram Gopal of Bakshi Colony, Seora tehsil, district Jammu and Govind Ram son of Ram Dass of Shergarh (Giddargallia), tehsil Gadigarh, district Jammu.
The police party asked them to produce document of the above mentioned motorcycle but both of them failed to give any satisfactory reply regarding motorcycle. During questioning, suspect namely Balwant Raj disclosed that he along with Govind Ram had stolen vehicles and others items from the jurisdiction of various police stations of Jammu district.
On their disclosure, police recovered two Super Splender motorcycles bearing registration numbers JK014A-5968 and JK02AS-4754, two Pulsar motorcycles bearing registration numbers JK02X-9223 and DL 5SU- 4383, a Vespa scooter (JK02AL-3791), 3 domestic gas cylinders and one Intex mobile.
The recovery was made by Inspector Mohd Showkat Choudhary, Incharge, police station Miran Sahib, along with ASI Yougal Sudan, I/C PP Kullian, under the supervision of SDPO R S Pura, Sourabh Prashar, SP HQrs, Romesh Kotwal and overall supervision of SSP Jammu, Vivek Gupta.
Further investigation into the matter is going on.
