Veeri seeks Oppn cooperation for smooth conduct of business

Jammu, Jan 9: Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, A. R. Veeri today asked the opposition to cooperate in running the house smoothly in the larger public interest.
The Minister said this while intervening during the discussion on Motion of Thanks on Governor’s Address. “I do not know why the opposition is disrupting the proceedings repeatedly. They only want to disrupt the Business for the heck of it, instead of participating in fruitful discussion in the larger public interest,” he said.
First they (opposition) demanded adjournment of house to discuss the situation arising out of the unrest in Kashmir, which the Government on the directions of the Speaker allowed and accordingly the reply was given by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in the House today, he said and added that the opposition seems not to be interested in discussing the issues of public interest and is instead playing to the galleries.
