JAMMU, Oct 11: In order to strengthen the infrastructure facilities in SKUAST-Jammu, the Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-J, Dr Pradeep K Sharma today laid the foundation stones of 3 BHK (12 sets) residential quarters for Assistant Professors at Chatha Campus and Dean’s Residence at RS Pura campus.
Estates Officer of the University, Iqbal Singh informed that the 3 BHK (12 sets) for Assistant Professors is being constructed at a cost of Rs 3.59 crore in an area of 6700 sq ft while construction of Dean’s residence is being constructed at a cost of Rs 1.11 crore in an area of 2650 sq ft. Both the projects will be completed within 15 and 12 months of time, respectively. The projects have been funded by the State Government under Capex Budget.
The Vice-Chancellor asked Dr Deepak Kher, Director Planning & Monitoring cum Chairman, Standing Works Committee, Estates Officer and his team that time and quality of work should be essence of the project. He emphasized that the work be completed within the stipulated time so that facility is provided to the faculty members. He impressed upon the executing agencies and the University engineers to maintain quality of work.
Besides, HoDs of all the three faculties and executive members of teaching and non-teaching associations, Director Education, Dr TAS Ganai, Comptroller cum Registrar, Rajesh Talwar, Dean FVSc & AH RS Pura, Dr MMS Zama, Dean, FoA, Dr DP Abrol, Dean FBSc, Dr S Rizvi  were present in both the functions.
