VC-CPG meet; Department of Posts, JU to work together

JAMMU, Sept 15: John Samuel, Chief Postmaster General , J&K called on Prof  Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor , University of Jammu, here today.
It was decided that University of Jammu and Department of Posts will work together on many projects. Discussions were held on various aspects and decision were taken thereof.
University Forms for Examination and Admissions to various courses of Jammu University will be sold  through various Post Offices in J&K and the modalities in this regard will be finalized soon.
Now, the students can get the form in the Post Office, pay the fees for this and forms will also be sent through Speed Post to University.
Department of Posts will support Jammu University for making arrangements in connection with booking and dispatch of examination materials through various post offices in Jammu & Kashmir.
As a part of transformation of Post Offices the staff of the Department of Posts will be trained by the University of Jammu in change management and business development.
John Samuel, Chief Post Master General said that Jammu University is the best forum to train the post office staff especially in the areas of Business Development and management.
Vice Chancellor also rendered the support of University to the Department of Posts for holding Philatelic Exhibition on Gandhi Jayanti in collaboration with University Gandhi Study Centre.
Among others Prof Manoj Dhar, Controller of Examinations, Jaikumar Sharma, OSD to Vice-chancellor, Jagdeep Gupta, Director Postal Services and Amit Sharma, Director Accounts were also present in the meeting.
