JAMMU, Feb 26: The Jammu unit of Vedic Brahman Kalyan Parishad (VBKP) has resolved to attend national level 2-day convention of the Vedic Brahman community being held at holy city of Haridwar on June 10 and 11, 2017.
In a meeting of the Core Committee of Jammu unit of the Parishad, held here today under the chairmanship of its State president, Pt Daya Ram Sharma, the members unanimously passed a resolution with regard to the participation of Jammu (Division) unit in the national level conclave (Sammelan) of the VBKP, being held at Haridwar in June this year.
It was decided that a group of at least 70 members of the Vedic Brahman Samaj from Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur and Reasi districts would represent J&K in this two-day national programme. The Core Committee members also discussed in detail the evils in the community and bowed to bring reforms. It also decided to come out with a Calender and felicitate the children/ youth of the community from J&K for their outstanding performance in various fields in near future.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting included- Ved Parkash Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Surinder Sharma (Adv), Baldev Sharma, Rattan Sharma, Madan Lal Sharma, Prem Sharma, Radha Krishan Sharma, Pardeep Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Gopal Sharma, OP Sharma, Arvinder Sharma, Anil Sharma and Sunil Kumar Sharma.
