Various organizations, institutions celebrate Republic Day

JAMMU, Jan 28: Celebrations of 68th Republic Day even continued today in various parts of Jammu and other districts of the region as many organizations and educational institutions organized functions in this connection and unfurled the Tricolour.
Vasudhaiava Kutumbakm Welfare Society (VKWS) — a social organization, organized a function to celebrate Republic Day in which Principal Secretary, School Education, Shaleen Kabra, was the chief guest. She unfurled the National Flag, which was followed by a cultural bonanza comprising patriotic songs and folk dances presented by the students of different schools run by VKWS.
Bharat Vikas Parishad, Gandhi Nagar Branch, Jammu celebrated 68th Republic Day. SN Sharma, an octogenarian, who was the chief guest, hoisted the National Flag. Chief Organizer, Bhopal Dutta, Dr Ashok Kumar Sharma (secretary of the Branch), Lagjit Singh Isher (treasurer) and Dev Raj Sharma (Prant president) were among others who graced the occasion.
In connection with Republic Day, a grand function was organized in the premises of ITI Hiranagar under the chairmanship of Davinder Verma, Chairman IMC (Owner of Satyam Cement) and Principal Anoop Sharma, ITI Hiranagar, who jointly unfurled the Tricolour. Among cultural activities, patriotic songs and sport activities were performed by trainees of different trades.
Government Boys Higher Secondary School (GBHSS), Nowabad, Jammu celebrated republic Day with great fervor. Principal, Vijay Chanyal unfurled the Tricolour amid chanting of National Anthem by students and staff members. Cultural activities were also presented by the students.
Republic Day was celebrated in GBHSS Udhampur with great pomp and show. Principal of the Institution, Ved Prakash Sharma, unfurled the National Flag and took salute from the parade. National Anthem was sung and sweets were distributed among the students and the teachers.
68th Republic Day celebrated with patriotic fervor at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Rabta, where Principal of the School, Ashok Kumar Dogra, unfurled the Tricolour. The students took out March Past. Later, the Principal distributed prizes and sweets among the students.
Government Model Higher Secondary School Sunjwan today organized an impressive function to celebrate Republic Day. The function started with unfurling of National Flag by Principal of the School, Prem Singh, followed by National Anthem. Students presented a cultural bonanza. Later, the Principal gave away prizes among the students.
Republic Day was celebrated with honour, dignity and enthusiasm in the premises of GHSS Channi Himmat, Jammu by the students and the staff members of the school. The National Flag was hoisted by Satinder Kaur, Incharge Principal of the school, in presence of staff and students. The function ended with singing of the National Anthem.
The students and staff of Government Girls High School, Kacchi Chawani celebrated Republic Day in the premises of the school. Headmaster, Parveen Gupta, hoisted the National Flag in the presence of staff and students. Besides this, a colourful cultural programme was presented by the students.
On the eve of Republic Day, a function was organized in the premises of Government High School, Rah-Salyote (Jammu). Bharat Bhushan, Naib Tehsildar, Niabet Rah-Salyote, unfurled the National Flag in the presence of Headmaster, Satya Devi Sharma.
Residents of Bajalta celebrated Republic Day by unfurling the National Flag in their locality. The Flag was hoisted by ex-Sarpanch, Bain Bajalta, Rehmat Ali and Naib Tehsildar Mohammed Saleem. They were joined by the locals of Bajalta including Mohammed Iqbal and leaders of Tractor and Tipper Union (TTU).
National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) celebrated Republic Day with fervor and enthusiasm as function to celebrate the occasion was organized at Pacca Danga Chowk, where NMC president, Subhash Shastri unfurled the Tricolour. Several social activists and local people participated in the celebration.
The Republic Day was also celebrated with enthusiasm in Government High School Baliyal (Rajpura Mandi). Headmaster Renu Manhas unfurled the National Flag and stressed upon the students to follow the foot-steps of freedom fighters to maintain the sovereignty and integrity of the country.
On the occasion, students also presented various cultural programmes.
A function in connection with Republic Day was also organized at Aroria Di Chappri, Jammu, by Shri Badri Nath Shiv Mandir Committee, where the National Flag was hoisted by president of the Mandir committee. Children of the locality actively participated in the function.
