Vakil demands probe into backdoor appointments

JAMMU, Mar 4: President Jammu and Kashmir Bachao Tehreek and former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil has demanded general probe in all the backdoor appointments that have taken place over the years, saying some ‘selective recruitments’ in different departments are illegal and debatable.
In a statement issued here, Vakil expressed utter shock over the selective shedding of crocodile tears by the main opposition National Conference (NC). “The opposition party has failed to deliver its responsibilities in an honest manner. It has used a very selective approach over these recruitments. It cries on few recruitments and keeps mum on the others where it has its own political compulsions,” he said.
Demanding a general probe, Vakil said a number of backdoor appointments have taken place in Social Welfare Department, in and outside Secretariat and in the Legislative Assembly, not only in this regime but in the previous regime as well.
“The Chief Minister should be clear in doing justice with the meritorious students whose rights have been muzzled by the politically influential people,” he said.
“Every other political worker of the ruling regime has been appointed in J&K Bank. This all needs to be probed by an independent commission. If this process will continue where should the meritorious people go?,” he asked.
