Vajpayee’s ashes immersed in Jhelum, Indus rivers

SRINAGAR, Aug 24: The ashes of great personality, who has ruled the hearts of billions, fostering a party of more than 10 million, has assorted into the land of love and devotion. This was stated by BJP national vice-president & Prabhari for Jammu & Kashmir State, Avinash Rai Khanna, while immersing the Ashes into the sacred waters of Jhelum today.
Earlier, rich tributes were paid to the tallest leader of time at the party office, Jawahar Nagar, near here. The members of Kashmir civil society also joined BJP leaders in paying tributes to late leader and in immersion ceremony.
The ashes of Vajpayee were immersed in the sacred waters in the middle of river Jhelum at Shadipora, Ganderbal, Kashmir.
Former Minister Sat Sharma, former Dy. Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, BJP State general secretary (Org.), Ashok Kaul, State general secretary & Incharge Kashmir region, Yudhvir Sethi, MLCs, Ramesh Arora, Sofi Yusuf, Charanjit Singh Khalsa, Girdhari Lal Raina, State spokesperson Altaf Thakur and other senior leaders paid rich tributes to former PM.
Avinash Rai Khanna, while immersing the “Asthi Kalash” said that today, the spirit of the great personality, who has ruled the hearts of billions, will get mixed in the land of sufis and saints. He said that Atal Ji was fully dedicated to the welfare of the public and his works will be remembered for the centuries to come. He said that Atal Ji worked for the mission of unifying India through wide network of roads, giving city like facilities to villages and dignified life for every individual.

Kavinder Gupta in his tributes said that Atal Ji was an unparallel leader who had qualities of head and heart. With his charismatic leadership he ruled over the hearts of millions of Indians for decades together.
Ashok Kaul, while paying tributes, termed Atal Ji as the tallest leader of the times. He said that Atal Ji always observed a life of “Swayamsevak” bringing simplicity and transparency in his words and actions.
Sat Sharma, while paying tributes, portrayed Atal Ji as fatherly figure for all. He said that anybody who is serving the society will always keep Atal Ji in mind.
Yudhvir Sethi, while paying tributes, termed Atal Ji as the perfect statesman, politician, poet and social worker.
Girdhari Lal Raina performed the final rites with the recitation of Vedic verses at the bank of Jhelum.
BJP’s Minority Cell, president ,Mohd. Sadiq Khan, Ex. VC, Dr. Ali Mohammad Mir, BJYM national vice-president, Er. Aijaz Hussain, district president, Arif Raja, Kashmir media Incharge Manzoor Bhat, Sheikh Bashir, Mushtaq Noorabadi, Ashraf Reshi, Nazir Ahmad Gilkar, Ashok Bhat, Asif Masoodi, Bashir Ahmad, D. K. Nehru, Waseem Bari, Neelam Gash and other senior leaders paid rich tributes to Atal Ji.
The ashes of former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee brought from Jammu this morning were immersed in the Indus River by MP Thupstan Chhewang in presence of State vice president Pramod Kapai, Chief Executive Councillor Dorjay Mutup, Executive Councillors, Council-lors and party workers.
Earlier BJP leaders received his to Vajpayee ashes at the Airport and were taken to BJP Office where party workers paid tribute. Later it was taken to Sindhu Ghat in the form of procession.
