Utilize latest technology to gain knowledge: DyCM to students

JAMMU, Feb 12: Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh today said the students need to take advantage of the modern technology to make learning simpler and knowledge easy to grasp. He said the onus lies on the parents and the teachers to edify virtues of humanism in their children
The Deputy Chief Minister was speaking at a function organized in connection with the inauguration of the new RMG International School and celebration of Annual Day of the Kids Planet School at Jandail near Akhnoor here.
D S Chib, Vice-Chairman Kissan Development Board, Rajiv Sharma, Legislator, Rohit Gupta, Chairman RMG School, Mona Gupta, Principal, academicians and people from different walks of life were present.
“Modern technology has revolutionized every aspect of life including education and the need of the hour is to take maximum benefit from it so that students also get benefitted,” said the Deputy Chief Minister.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been effectively ensuring that the technology is used in carrying out day-to-day activities as well as education and his endeavors have been largely responsible for making India one of the forces to reckon with globally.
Stressing the need for adopting yoga to keep body and mind fit, the Deputy CM said that yoga has revolutionized the whole world as it offers an opportunity to balance the mind and body and helps harness an individual’s inner strength. The importance of this traditional form of exercise has been recognized globally as well due to the efforts of our PM, he added.
Dr Singh said the parents should also play their role in ensuring that the students get maximum exposure through the utilization of the new technological inventions and interventions.
“The Government is committed to improve the standards of education in the State. In order to achieve this objective, the Government has launched various educational schemes and scholarship programmes for the welfare of the talented youth”, he said.
Later, the Deputy Chief Minister also released the school journal “Expressions” on the occasion.
