USTA meets DSE, highlights demands

JAMMU, Oct 15: J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) delegation led by its provincial president Hari Singh met Director School Education (DSE) Tousar Kanti Sharma and apprised him about the problems being faced by the teaching community.
While speaking, Singh demanded early repatriation of masters, lecturers and principals, who have completed their tenure out of district and transfer from far flung areas in their respective districts, suitable modification in favour of recent unsuitable salary in favour of SSA teachers, regularization of ReT teachers and release of selection grade in favour of trained graduate teachers.
He also demanded removal of pay anomalies, transfer policy for regularized ReT teachers, immediate DPC of class IV, library assistants and left out teachers to masters, masters to headmasters after every six months, release quarterly salary grants, leave enhancement at retirement for school teachers.
“Filling up vacant posts of teachers in schools, allowing trained teachers to appear in BEd through distance mode and debarring teachers from non-academic duties”, were the other demands voiced by Singh.
Among others present were Rajeev Kumar, Banarsi Dass, Sewa Ram, Chemail Singh, Julfkar Ali Malik, Pardeep Singh, Shashi Paul Singh, Shirajudin, Mohammad Nisar, Sajad Mirza, etc.
