USTA holds protest, highlights demands

KATHUA, Sept 1: J&K United School Teachers’ Association (USTA), Kathua unit today held a protest demonstration under the chairmanship of district president, Dr Sashi Paul Singh, here at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park to focus the long pending demands of teaching community.
Hundreds of activists of USTA gathered at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park and started raising slogans against the State Government for not considering their just and genuine demands.
While speaking Sashi Paul Singh strongly criticized the State Government for not releasing salary continuously for last more than six months in favour of teachers working under SSA scheme. He also said that salary under RMSA and NPS is not regular.
Singh also advocated for selection grade to trained under graduate teachers and removal of pay-anomalies in respect of teachers. He further criticized the Education Department authorities for misusing their official position by making norm less, premature and pick and choose transfers pushing large scale corruption and favouritism in the department.
The other demands raised were removal of pay anomalies in pay grade of pre revised 6500-10500, filling up all vacant posts of Teachers in schools, provide infrastructure in new primary schools, transfer policy for regularized ReT Teachers, leave encashment at retirement for school teachers on Haryana pattern, etc.
