USTA holds conference

KATHUA, Jan 22: One day conference of J&K United School Teachers Association (UST A) held at Mahanpur, here today, in which 467 delegates from 12 zones of District Kathua participated.
In the day long session, detailed discussion was made on present education scenario and service conditions of teaching community. The conference adopted several resolutions, which include; streamline salary of teachers working under SSA/RMSA, remove pay anomalies etc.
The conference unanimously elected  eleven member District Committee comprising Roop Chand as president, Julfkar Ali Malik as secretary, Shankara Singh as senior vice president, Shamsher Singh as cashier, Rashpal Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Sudesh Kumar as vice presidents, Sher Ali as joint secretary, Sham Lal and Rattan Chand as organizers and Manohar Singh as press secretary.
Moreover 8- member Sub Distt Committee was also constituted with Devi Saroop as president, Ranjeet Singh as secretary, Harish Kumar as senior vice president, Uttam Raj as cashier, Anita Sharma and Sarita Kiran as vice president, Joginder Singh and Ajay Gupta as organizer.
Among others, provincial president Hari Singh and general secretary Rajeev Kumar addressed the delegates.
