USTA condemns dropping out of 572 teachers from promotion list

JAMMU, Mar 1: J&K United School Teachers Association has strongly condemned the Education Department  authorities for dropping out 572 Masters from the promotion list, who have acquired degrees through distance mode from UGC recognized universities, including Jammu University and Kashmir University.
An emergency meeting of USTA was held, here today under the chairmanship of provincial president Hari Singh to discuss the prevailing situation in the Education department and more particularly  the promotion of 368 teachers as Masters, whose DPC was made in February 2014.
The meet demanded monetary and seniority benefits for the promotees and said that appealed the Education Minister Altaf Bukhari to personally intervene for withdrawal of controversial order number 66-Edu of 2017, dated 16-02-2017 so that all dropped out teachers, whose DPC was made in 2014, may be promoted as Masters.
USTA also threatened to resort to agitational path if the Government continues to harass and humiliate the teaching community.
The meeting was attended by Rajeev Kumar, Dr Shashi Paul Singh, Zulfkar Ali Malik, Pardeep Singh, Raj Kumar, Shanti Sawroop Sharma, Angat Singh, Sunil Thappa and others.
