NEW DELHI, Sept 27: Cardamom prices went up by 0.74 per cent to Rs 1,120 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions amid pick-up in demand at the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in October moved up by Rs 8.20, or 0.74 per cent to Rs 1,120 per kg in a business turnover of 14 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in November contracts traded higher by Rs 6.90, or 0.62 per cent to Rs 1,124 per kg in 10 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in cardamom futures to fresh positions created by traders due to improved demand in the physical market against restricted supplies from producing belts, mainly influenced cardamom prices at futures trade. (PTI)
