Upper Thathar faces acute water scarcity

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Jan 3: The residents of  Upper Thathar and Gafoor Lane (Gali) are facing acute shortage of drinking water.
The locals of the area in a meeting held here today strongly condemned the attitude of the concerned PHE authorities  and alleged that for the last ten days, the supply to the area has been badly hit but no alternative arrangements were made by the concerned PHE officers. The people have been forced to fetch water from the a  water station about one kilometer away.
They pointed out that concerned field staff claimed that due to some mechanical snag at water filtration station at Domana,  this problem has been created. They urged upon the concerned Mechanical Engineering   staff of PHE Department to rectify the fault and ensure better water supply. A senior official when contacted claimed that this problem will be rectified within 2-3 days.
