Unknown man found hanging, male body recovered from canal

JAMMU, Aug 19: An unidentified man of age about 35-40 years was today found hanging in a forest area of Jhajjar Kotli while an unknown male body of age about 40-45 years was recovered from a canal in Gangyal area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, some locals today spotted a dead body of an unknown man hanging with a tree in forest area of at Shurta, Jhajjar Kotli and informed the police, which reached the spot and shifted the body to mortuary room of Government Medical College Jammu for identification/postmortem.
Meanwhile, he said, the dead body of an unknown man was spotted flowing in a canal near Soura bridge by some passersby, who informed the police. On their information police reached the spot, evicted the body from the canal and shifted it to mortuary room of GMC Jammu for identification/postmortem.
In both cases, inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC were initiated in concerned police stations.
