JAMMU, Mar 9: Demanding proper investigation into the serious irregularities in multi-crore food grain scandal in Kashmir and action against the real culprits besides sending employees back to Kashmir who were appointed purely against posts of Kashmir, the employees of Food Corporation of India (FCI)  held strong protest demonstration at FCI Regional Office, Rail Head Complex here today.
The FCI employees under the banner of FCI Executive Staff Union assembled outside the FCI Regional Headquarters at around 11 am here today  and started their protest demonstration.  Carrying banner and placards, the employees sat on protest dharna up to 2 pm.
The protesting employees were shouting slogans in support of their demands and also against the Regional Management for shielding real culprits involved in multi-crore food grain scandal including missing of 130 trucks loaded with food grains dispatched to Kashmir valley from Punjab. They alleged that top Management in the Regional Headquarters, was shielding the real culprits while innocents and even those who exposed the scandal were being targeted. They also alleged that many top officers were involved in this multi-crore scam and it is not just worth Rs 14.74 crore but may cross 100 crore mark or even more  if proper investigation is conducted by the apex agency.
The agitating employees further demanded that seven employees who were appointed against the posts purely against migrant quota for Kashmir, are allowed to work here in Jammu. Since they have managed their stay here, against them employees from Jammu region are being forcibly deputed there. The Union warned the Regional Management to desist from such repressive measures.
The Union alleged that General Manager (Regional head) released Rs 75 lakh of the private godown owner at Baramulla where scam worth Rs 14.74 crore took place. Despite letters of area officers Singla and Joignder Pal  and non-clearance or verification by these concerned officers, the payment worth Rs 75 lakh as rent was released by the General Manager (Region) in favour of private party. They demanded high level  inquiry  into the shaddy role of top officers of FCI at Jammu regional headquarters in this concern.
