Unfurling of National Flag, patriotic songs mark 67th Republic Day

JAMMU, Jan 27: Unfurling of National Flag and singing of patriotic songs marked the 67th Republic Day here.
A colourful function in connection with Republic Day celebration was organized at Bishnah, under the aegis of Dogra Sadar Sabha. The function was attended by prominent citizen, office bearers and members of the Sabha. The National Flag was unfurled by Gambhir Dev Singh Charak.
Chamber of Commerce and Industry celebrated 67th Republic Day with traditional gaiety. Rakesh Gupta, President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry unfurled the National Flag, followed by singing of National Anthem. Deepak Aggarwal, Vice President CCI, Arun Gupta, Secretary General, Ashu Gupta, Treasurer, Rajendra Motial, former Secretary General, Shiv Partap Gupta, Vinod Malhotra, besides many others were present on the occasion.
Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha celebrated 67th Republic Day. Vinod Gupta, Sabha President along with MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta, MLC Naresh Gupta, Chief Patron Amar Nath Gupta, Vice President Om Parkash Gupta and general secretary Chander Mohan Gupta unfurled the National Flag, followed by National Anthem.
Chamber of Traders Federation celebrated 67th Republic Day, wherein President of the Federation Yash Paul Gupta hoisted the National Flag in presence of Parveen Gupta, senior vice president, Dinesh Gupta, vice president, Neeraj Anand, secretary general, Balwinder Singh, treasurer, etc.
Rehari Colony Republic Day Celebrations Committee celebrated the Republic Day yesterday at Rehari Colony Chowk with great enthusiasm as thousands of people from all walks including school children joining the celebrations. Arun Khanna, former Corporator was the chief guest while Rajinder Arora, MD, JK Channel was guest of the honour. The elderly people were honoured on the occasion with mementoes and shawls while school students presented cultural items. The function was followed by community langar. Speaking on the occasion, Arun Khanna threw light on the freedom struggle.
Traders Welfare Association, Bus Stand celebrated 67th Republic Day with enthusiasm. On the occasion, MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta hoisted the National Flag in presence of Ramesh Tak, President of the Association and other members.
J&K Human Rights Watch celebrated the 67th Republic Day. National Anthem was sung, followed by speeches on the importance of the day. BL Kapoor, Amit Kapoor, Monika Gupta, Viney Gupta, Poonam Gupta, besides many others also expressed their views.
Republic Day was celebrated at Khalsa Chowk, Nanak Nagar, Ward Number 42 by All Jammu and Kashmir Pensioners and Civil Society. President Ajit Singh Adyal, Sanjay Gupta, Media and Publicity Secretary and many others threw light on the importance of the day.
National Incredible Literacy Mission celebrated 67th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at Roop Nagar. Project Director, NILM, Rakeshwar Singh hoisted the National Flag. Children presented cultural programmes. Project Director distributed prizes among the winners including Abhishriya, Adhiishwer Singh, Rahul, Vansh, Akash and Varun.
67th Republic Day was celebrated at Laxmi Narayan Mandir Chowk, Gandhi Nagar, wherein senior leader of BJP Indu Bhushan Sharma hoisted the National Flag. Students of various schools sung patriotic songs.
Mohalla Krishna Nagar Residents Committee celebrated 67th Republic Day. Convener of the Committee Sunil Kumar along with others unfurled the tricolour. On the occasion, the Committee honoured the students who secured positions and distinctions in the Board examinations.
On the eve of Republic Day, a flag hoisting ceremony was organized at Chatha Panchayat, wherein Avtar Singh Chairman unfurled the National Flag in presence of large number of people. SHO Satwari Manjeet singh, Block Development Officer Satwari Arun Kumar Khajuria, besides many others were present on the occasion.
On the occasion of 67th Republic Day, Canal Road Walkers Welfare Association (CRWWA) organized a function at walkway. Davinder Nath Mehta, senior founder member unfurled the National flag, followed by singing of National Anthem. President Prof MS Nargal, Vice President Lajya Manhas, General Secretary VK Sharma, Finance Secretary Hoshnak Singh Jamwal and many executive members including Er Dharm Vir Verma, Dr MR Sharma, Onkar Singh Charak, Rajan Gupta, Ravi Sharma participated in the function.
Republic Day was celebrated at Barrian Mohalla in District Udhampur by Indian National Trade Union Congress. The National Flag was hoisted by 95-year-old citizen of the Mohalla Dina Nath Padha in presence State Secretary of the Union Sumeet Magotra.
Jammu Aadarsh Bhartiya Samaj celebrated 67th Republic Day at Bhour Camp. Veer Nari Bimla Sharma, widow of martyr of 1965 Indo Pak War Naik Rabindera Dass hoisted the National Flag.
On the occasion a colourful cultural programme was presented by the students of Dashmesh Public High School, Nose Gay Public School, Ravi Public School Bhour Camp.
National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) in collaboration with various social, culture and trade organizations celebrated 67th Republic Day at Pacca Danga Chowk. President of NMC Subash Shastri unfurled the National Flag, followed by National Anthem. Retired Deputy Commissioner Samba, BS Jamwal was the chief guest on the occasion while Rajinder Kumar Raju presided over the function.
J&K Fine Arts Society celebrated Republic Day in a unique way by painting Tricolour with brush and paint on Canvas at JAKFAS Studio Janipur. The children from different schools prepared the painting titled “Hum Sub Ek Hain” under the guidance of JAKFAS artist Suresh Sharma.
Shastri Nagar Welfare Forum celebrated Republic Day at Floriculture Park, Shastri Nagar. The National Flag was unfurled by President of the Forum Lt Col (Retd) MR Uppal in presence of large number of people.
PoJK DP’s Front celebrated Republic Day near Press Club. President of the Front Captain Yudhvir Singh Chib unfurled the National Flag in presence of large number of people. The participants unanimously decided to accept Rs 2000 crores financial assistance announced by Prime Minister as first installment and not final settlement as the final settlement target is Rs 30 lakh per family as recommended by the JPC Committee.
JDA Housing Colony Welfare Association, Roop Nagar celebrated Republic Day at JDA Club, Sector 3, Roop Nagar. Choudhary Zulfkar Ali, Former Minister and MLA hoisted the National Flag, followed by National Anthem. President and other members of the Association were also present on the occasion. A cultural programme was presented by the children of Twinkle Playway School, Roop Nagar, followed by prize distribution.
All Jammu and Kashmir Christians Forum celebrated Republic Day at Ambphalla Chowk. Markes Gill, State president of the Forum unfurled the National Flag in presence of Isaac Bhatti, Ch Manga Masih, Yash Sotra, Ch Mohan Masih, Vinay Sotra, etc.
67th Republic Day was celebrated at Balgran–a charitable home for destitute children, Channi Himmat. Nirmal Gupta hoisted the National Flag in presence of guest, members, donors and children of Balgran. SN Sharma, President of Balgran was also present. Certificate of honor was presented by management of Balgran to RD Anand, MD, Hotel Asia, Ashok Gupta, Retd IGP and Dr Anita Baru for contributing to the cause of orphan and destitute children of the home.
Republic Day was celebrated by the residents of Sarwal Colony at Mandir Chowk. The National Flag was hoisted by Vijay Kumar Gupta, Retd Registrar, University of Jammu in presence of large number of people.
Bharat Vikas Parshid, Bahu Branch, Trikuta Nagar, celebrated 67th Republic Day at Shivaji Park, Sector 9, Trikuta Nagar. Dr Pankaj Kumar, Head, Railway Hospitals, J&K was the chief guest, who hoisted the National Flag in presence of large number of people, followed by National Anthem. On the occasion, children presented cultural items. Gifts were also distributed among the participants of the cultural items. Earlier, Purshotam Gupta, Secretary of the Branch presented the welcome address, whereas in the end, Ratan Kapoor, president of the branch presented vote of thanks.
67th Republic Day was celebrated at TRT Nagrota. President TRT Development Committee, PL Dhar unfurled the National Flag in presence of a large gathering. National Anthem was presented on the occasion.
Residents Welfare Association, Pamposh Colony, Janipur celebrated Republic Day. A three-year-old girl hoisted the National Flag in presence of President of the Association Bhushan Lal and large number of people, followed by National Anthem.
Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (Khow Wali Gali), Sector 1 Extension celebrated Republic Day at Temple Chowk, Sector 1 Extension. President of the Society Nitish Mahajan hoisted the National Flag in presence of members of the association and residents.
Youth of Bawani Vihar, Sector 3 Extension, Trikuta Nagar celebrated Republic Day. Social activist and former member Railway Advisory Board Nitish Mahajan hoisted the National Flag in presence of Anil Gupta, Veena Jandial, Rakesh Abrol, Mohinder Kotwal, Anil Ganju, etc.
Kashmir Dramatic Club, Om Nagar, Udheywala celebrated Republic Day. The National Flag was hoisted by social worker PN Hakim. Cultural items were also present on the occasion. A new body was also framed on the occasion, which included Pran Nath Hakim as President, Vinod Kumar as vice president, Deepak Kumar as secretary, Sumit Zutshi as deputy secretary, Rajesh Ganjoo as PRO, Phoola Hakim as director, Veena Ganjoo as treasurer/cashier, Renu Jotshi as publicity secretary, Kundan Bhat and Baboo as members.
Arya Samaj Daya Nand Marg, City Chowk celebrated Republic Day. Balwan Singh, general secretary unfurled the National Flag in presence of all the executive members including President Arun Gupta. A colourful programme was also presented on the occasion.
Bantalab Shopkeepers Association celebrated Republic Day. Chairman Surinder Singh hoisted the National Flag in presence of President Kuldeep Singh, MK Pandita, Manohar Gupta and Charanjit Chargotra.
Republic Day was celebrated by Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (TNWS) and Association for Welfare of Senior Citizens (AWSC) jointly. Vikram Gour, President, TNWS hoisted the National Flag in presence of Ashok Kumar Arora, President AWSC and other members of TNWS and AWSC.
Dogra Brahman Pratinidi Sabha celebrated Republic Day at Parade. On the occasion, Ved Parkash Sharma hoisted the National Flag in presence of vice president Verinder Magotra, Satya Paul Sharma, Nanak Chand Sharma, ML Sharma, Dr SD Sharma, Advocate PC Sharma, etc.
67th Republic Day was celebrated at Tawi Vihar Residents Welfare Association, Sidhra, wherein Parvez Diwan unfurled the National Flag. On the occasion, prizes were also distributed among the winners of the talent hunt programme including Sarah, Sonika, Shabnam, Manu, Shivani, Muskan, Aasia Akhter, Prangika and Ishika. BS Thakur, President, TVRWA was also present.
Buta Nagar Residents Welfare Association celebrated Republic Day. President of the Association BS Jasrotia unfurled the National Flag in presence of SHO Janipur Inspector RS Bhau, Vijay Jasrotia, Ram Krishan, Anil Sharma, OP Sharma, etc.
Shopkeepers Association Shiva Ji Chowk, Nanak Nagar celebrated 67th Republic Day. President of the Association Ashok Singh Sambyal along with General Secretary, Deepak Malhotra, Cashier, Girdhari Lal Gupta and other prominent persons of the area unfurled the National Flag.
