Unending investigation

If investigation into cases of corruption, bribery, embezzlement of funds, misuse of power and other irregularities is not completed even after 8 or nine years what should we call it, connivance by the Government or by the persons indicted or sheer no-interest in having good governance, The story of abysmal incompetence and disregard of responsibility is traceable in the statement made on the floor of the house, when replying to a question. State Vigilance Organization and Crime Branch have registered FIRs against 304 officers and officials for last one decade and till date investigation has not been completed against them except about 34 cases in which punishment has been pronounced.
The question is that justice delayed is justice denied. Many of the indicted persons have superannuated in the course of investigation. It is reported that some have even been promoted and posted at lucrative positions. Is this the way of fighting corruption one may ask. And if this is the state of affairs where is our State going to land at the end of the day. This is not fighting the corruption but promoting it because the tainted persons get encouraged that the authorities have no power or will to take action against them.
