Umer will be next president of MC Baramulla: Cong

SRINAGAR, Oct 22: Umer Azhar Kakroo will be the next president of Municipal Council (MC) Baramulla as decided by the Congress party today.
The sources said that a meeting of elected ward numbers of Congress party was held in Baramulla today and it was unanimously decided that Umar Azhar Kakroo will be next president of Municipal Council Baramulla. The meeting was presided over by Shoaib Nabi Lone, district president of Congress party.
In Municipal Council Baramulla, Congress has 12 seats in 21 wards while BJP got 6 and Independents bagged 3 seats.
Umer is a younger son of senior leader of Congress party, late Jan Mohammad Kakroo. Talking to Excelsior, Umer said that we were in majority in Baramulla and today we move an application to Executive Officer, Municipal Council Baramulla, along with the signed copies of my ward members and in next few days I will join as president, Municipal Council Baramulla.
