Udhampur Wrestler Benia Min lifts 6th Nomain Dangal Title

KATRA, May 25: Wrestler Benia Min of Basantgarh in District Udhampur lifted the 6th Annual Nomain Kesari Dangal Title 2018 by defeating Wrestler Sukh of Gurdaspur in Punjab in a tough fight for the first malli bout that lasted for 18 minutes at Dev Mai Road Nomain, neazr here today.
74 bouts were played during day-long Vishal Dangal. Wrestler Amir Khan was declared as the best Wrestler of the Dangal. He was awarded a cash prize of Rs 500 along with Maa Ki Chunni by the chief guest ASP Katra Naresh Singh.
Dangal was organized by Kotli-Bajallian Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the patronage of Shiv Kumar Sharma, President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and under the overall supervision of Mohd Sharif, President Kotli-Bajallian Dangal Committee while Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Vice President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association was the Organizing Secretary of the Dangal.
ASP Katra Naresh Singh was the chief guest on the occasion who witnessed the whole event and encouraged the youths who participated in these types of rural sports and gave away cash prize to the winners and runners-up wrestlers.
Shiv Kumar presided over the function.
Winner of 1st Malli bout was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 31,000 along with Maa Ki Chunni by ASP Katra Naresh Singh, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Ex. Sarpanch Romesh Chander Choudhary while the runners-up Wrestler Sukh got Rs 20,000 from Mohd Sharif, Om Parkash Magotra and Santosh Kumar Master.
Dr. Dev Raj Sharma Ex. Nodal officer ISM District Samba was honoured by Romesh Chander Choudhary, Ex. Sarpanch.
