UCC outplays RCC by 53 runs in inaugural tie

UDHAMPUR, Dec 3: United Cricket Club (UCC) outplayed Reasi Cricket Club (RCC) by 53 runs in the inaugural tie of the Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Tournament, which commenced today at Subash Stadium, here.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, UCC made 159 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Ashwani Kotwal made 47 runs in 35 balls, while Himanshu Chauhan chipped in 34 runs in 31 balls.
For RCC side, Sunny Malik took 2 wickets, while Jasin and Nitin scalped one wicket each.
In reply, RCC bundled out at 106 runs by losing all the wickets. Vidur made 23 runs in 19 balls, while Sunny Malik scored 19 runs in 12 balls.
For UCC side, Ritek was the pick of the bowler with 4 wickets, while Brijesh also bowled well and took 3 wickets. Ashwani Kotwal pocketed 2 wickets.
Brijesh Sharma was adjudged as man of the match.
On the occasion, MP Bahuguna, DIG CRPF was the chief guest, while Ashok Khajuria, Chief Planning Officer, Udhampur and Maharan 2 IC 187 Battalion CRPF were guests of honour. Vijay Khajuria, Bhushan Sethi, Retd Zonal Officer Sports, Ram Khajuria, Ranji Trophy Player, Naresh Anthal, Former Cricketer and Shyam Saroop Kalsotra were also present.
The match was officiated by Rakesh Sharma and Raman Sharma as umpires, while Sunil Khajuria and Naresh Singh maintained the scorecard. Inder Gupta was the commentator.
The Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Tournament, Udhampur is being organized by Chairman of the Organizing Committee Vijay Khajuria.
