Two teenagers commit suicide, three make abortive bids

JAMMU, July 22: Two teenage girls allegedly committed suicide, while three others made abortive attempts at their respective residences here today.
As per police sources, Rachana (18), daughter of Ajay Daya Nand, a resident of Paloura Chowk allegedly consumed some poisonous substance at her residence.
Finding her unconscious, family members rushed her to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where she failed to respond to the treatment and breathed her last today.
In another incident, 17-year-old Aisha, daughter of Abdul Baber, a resident of Sunjwan allegedly ended her life by consuming some poisonous substance at her residence.
She was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where she failed to respond to the treatment and died today.
The bodies have been handed over to family members for last rites after completing legal formalities.
Meanwhile, Shashi Devi (25), wife of Ajeet Kumar, a resident of Ladwal Rajbagh and Sheela Devi (65), wife of Sardar Singh, a resident of Khour allegedly tried to end their lives by consuming some poisonous substance at their respective residence.
They were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where they are undergoing treatment, when reports last came in.
Taro Devi, wife of Tulsi Dass of Aijal Malal, Akhnoor also tried to end her life by hanging herself at her residence.
She was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where her condition was stated to be out of danger, when reports last came in.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at concerned police stations and investigation started to ascertain the reasons behind such extreme steps.
