Two more Astroturf Stadiums in State soon: Imran Ansari

JAMMU, Apr 5: To give fillip to sports in general and the game of Hockey in particular, two Astroturf Stadiums will be provided to the State very soon, with one in each division.
This was stated by the Minister for information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports, Moulvi Imran Raza Ansari on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of Hockey Championship at KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, here.
The Minister was the chief on the occasion and distributed prizes among the winners.
Mr Ansari assured the Hockey lovers, enthusiasts and the players that the Astroturf stadia will be established very soon in order to promote this National Game of India.
On the occasion, Joint Secretary Hockey J&K, Raja Ghulam Nabi Wani said that it was 19 years ago that Astroturf Stadium was established in Jammu and the provision of two more Astroturf Hockey fields will be icing on the cake.
He further said that under-16 boys and girls Hockey Championships will be held at Polo Ground and Gindun Stadium, Rajbagh in Srinagar in the ongoing month.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Jaswinder Singh Kuku, Shuja Ahmed, Gurdeep Singh and HS Bakshi.
