Two killed in Samba road accident

JAMMU, Jan 31:  Two persons, including a woman and her son riding on a motorcycle were killed today after being hit by a truck on the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway at Rahya More in Samba district, a police official said.
The driver of the truck, bearing a registration number PB08M-4797 of Punjab, abandoned the vehicle after the accident.
The deceased were identified as Sandeep Singh , S/o Rajinder Singh of H No 136/D Ward No 33, Shiv Nagar Jammu and his mother Kamlesh. Both of them died on the spot after truck crushed them. They were riding on motorcycle bearing registration number JK02 W-0145.
Efforts were on to arrest the driver, the official said.
He said the truck was on way to Punjab from Jammu when it hit a motorcycle near Vijaypur in Samba district.
The people informed the Vijaypur Police who shifted them to Emergency Hospital Vijaypur where the doctors pronounced them as brought dead.
The dead bodies were later shifted to CHC Ramgarh for post-mortem. The Vijaypur Police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law.
