Two killed, five injured in road accidents

JAMMU, Aug 11: Two persons were killed while five others were injured today in separate road accidents in city outskirts.
According to a police spokes-man, a youth was killed on the spot while another sustained serious injuries, when a without number bike on which they were travelling was hit by rashly driven unknown vehicle at Sua No 1 on Jammu-Akhnoor Road within the jurisdiction of police station Kanachak, this evening.
He said that body of the deceased who was identified as Kishore Kumar (25) son of Vrita Ram, resident of Buduchak and the injured person namely Raman Kumar son of Ramesh Lal, resident of Buduchak, was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where Raman Kumar also succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
“Bodies of both the deceased were shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for post-mortem”, he said, adding a case in this connection was registered at police station Kanachak and investigations started.
Meanwhile, two persons namely Bittu (45) son of Munshi, resident of BC Road and his wife, Ritika Nayar (40) got injured after a scooty on which they were going on, was hit by a speeding car at Kunjwani. A woman identified as Sharda Devi (37) wife of Vijay Kumar, resident of Phalian Mandaal, was injured when a bike on which she was travelling along with his husband, was hit by a Mahindra vehicle at Surychak.
At Gho Manhasa, a speeding mini-bus hit a bike and injured its rider namely Sunil Kumar (32) son of Krishan Lal, resident of Gho Manhasa. A youth was also injured due to fall from a truck at Gangyal. The injured was identified as Rajesh Dass (19) son of Rashmi Dass, resident of Assam (at present Gangyal).
All the injured were shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment. In all cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
