Two habitual burglars arrested, 85 tolas gold ornaments recovered

JAMMU, Aug 14: Chinore police arrested two habitual burglars involved in 9 theft cases and recovered 85 tolas gold ornaments from their possession.
This was stated by Superintendent of Police (SP) Jammu Rural Dushyant Sharma while interacting with media persons here today.
He informed that, on August 12, a team from Police Post Chinore while patrolling apprehended two persons near Keran Bantalab, who were moving under suspicious circumstances, adding that the both the youth were brought to police post and arrested under Section 54 CrPC.
During questioning, they revealed their name as Parveez Ahmed of Kishtwar and Farooq Ahmed of Gandoh District Doda, SP said, adding that during sustained questioning, the arrested persons disclosed that they have committed many thefts in the areas of Chinore Police Post and Domana Police Station.
SP said that during the course of further interrogation, they confessed their involvement in theft case registered under FIR Number 3/18 under Section 454 and 380 RPC and disclosed that both of them are living in a rented room at Laxmipuram Chinore where they have kept the whole stolen gold from different areas of Police Post Chinore and Police Station Domana.
SP Dushyant Sharma informed that on the disclosure of accused, police recovered 85 tolas of gold ornaments against which cases under FIR Numbers 227/13, 126/15, 70/16, 365/16, 62/17, 72/17, 3/18, 47/18 and 244/18 stands registered with Police Station Domana.
Police team led by Incharge Police Post Chinore SI Ranjeet Singh Rao made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Rajeshwar Slathia, Sandeep Gupta, SDPO Domana, SP Rural Dushyant Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
