Two drug-peddlers held

RAJOURI, Aug 31: The Police today arrested two drug- peddlers who were trying to smuggle consignment of drugs in the area.
SOG team Rajouri under the supervision of DySP Operations, Sukhdev Singh, assisted by another team of PS Rajouri headed by SHO Tahir Khan were on routine patrolling on Jawahar Nagar – Palma road when at Khandli bridge, a man was seen moving on road who tried to hide himself from cops soon after noticing their movement.
Sensing suspicion, police team intercepted him and during frisking of his belongings and clothes, 70 grams of Charas was recovered. He was identified as Mohd Rashid, son of Mohd Mustafa, a resident of Nagrota in Rajouri. He was arrested by police.
Another police team headed by Incharge Police Post Chingus, SI Fareed Ahmed under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Rajouri, Govind Rattan during naka at Kallar today morning signaled a car No. JK11B-3942 but driver parked his vehicle and tried to run away.
However, the cops acted swiftly and managed to overpower the driver and detained him. During search of the vehicle twenty rolls (Challies) of Charas were found which were seized. It contained about 350 grams of charas.
The accused was identified as Ajit Bali, son of Kishore Lal Bali, resident of Ward No 7- Sunderbani. He has been arrested. FIRs in both these cases has been registered in Police Station Rajouri.
