Srinagar, Mar 15: Police today said two drug peddlers were arrested in Srinagar and Anantnag districts of Valley.
A police spokesman said acting on a specific input about a drug peddler identified as Tawseef Ahmad Sheikh, police raided his house at Malpora locality of Habba Kadal here. He said that peddler tried to run away after noticing the movement of police. “The police party chased and overpowered him. On his search, 124 tablets were recovered. A case FIR number 11/2017 was registered against him and investigation was taken up,” he said.
The police spokesman said that acting on specific information, the police established a checkpoint at KP Road in Anantnag district. “During the checking, one person identified as Ghulam Mustafa Wani was intercepted. On checking, 10 bottles of codeine phosphate were recovered from his possession. A case under FIR number 33/17 under section 21, 22 NDPS was registered and investigation was taken up,” he added.
