Two drug peddlers arrested with 1.2 kgs cannabis

JAMMU, Dec 5: Under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’, police arrested two drug peddlers along with 1.2 kilograms of cannabis.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from City Police Station laid a naka near SMGS Hospital and intercepted a Santro car bearing registration number JK03A-2196, in which two persons were onboard.
During checking, police recovered around 1.2 kilograms of cannabis from the possession of the two persons travelling in the car and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Abdul Rashid, son of Gulam Hussain and Mushtaq Ahmed Bhat, son of Abdul Razaq, both residents of Shopian.
A case under FIR Number 65/17 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station City and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO City Inspector Vishal Sharma and assisted by Incharge SMGS Hospital Police Post SI Vishal Dogra made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Varun Jandial, SP City Dr Vinod Kumar and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
