Two doctors suspended for remaining absent

SRINAGAR, Mar 17: Two doctors were today suspended for remaining  absent from duty in south Kashmir district of Kulgam, an official spokesman said here this evening.
He said Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, today conducted an extensive tour of Kund Valley in the district and took stock of functioning of various Government offices.               The DC visited Razloo, Baitingo, Waltengoo, Kanchloo, Oriel, Nagangou and other adjoining villages of Kund valley. Mr Bhat visited the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Razloo to take stock of healthcare facilities being provided to the patients there. He visited various sections of the health institute and asked the doctors and paramedic staff to work with added zeal.
During the inspection of PHC Razloo, the DC suspended two doctors for unauthorized absence from their duties. He directed the concerned CMO to ensure regular attendance of medical staff at all health institutions of the hilly area so that patients don’t suffer for want of medicare facility.          During the visit, various public deputations interacted with the DC and appraised him about different problems confronting them.
On the occasion, the DDC gave on spot directions to the concerned officers for redressal of public grievances. He instructed PDD authorities to ensure supply of power as per schedule and undertake immediate repairs of damaged electric transformers.
Earlier, he inaugurated a plantation drive at Government Higher Secondary School Razloo, where he encouraged the students to plant one tree at their individual level. The DDC also took stock of facilities at the school.
