Two days Federation Cup commences

JAMMU, Dec 30: Two days Federation Cup, being organized by J&K Taekwondo Association (JKTA) under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI) commenced at International Delhi Public School (IDPS) Sunjwan, here.
The championship is being supported by International Delhi Public School (IDPS) Sunjwan, Jammu.
It’s for the very first time that the Jammu and Kashmir witnessed this kind of National Championship in which only 12 top ranked teams across the India will took part. All the top notch players from qualified States are participating in the event. The selection of the teams who appeared to participate in the Federation Cup have been done from Senior National Taekwondo Championship which was held at Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Along side the athletes, many VIP guests from State and National Federation joined the event.
The athletes played their matches on Point Sensor Scoring System which was completely electronic based scoring system ‘KPNP’. The procedure for organizing the Federation Cup was completely based on Pro-taekwondo events like ‘Grand Slam’ Super Series and ‘World Grand Prix’.
Many cultural programs were performed by the school students of International Delhi Public School (IDPS), during the auspicious ceremony.
The event aims at promoting the athletes across the India for various National and International Championships like Asian Championship and G1-G2 Olympic Ranking Championships.
Senior Congress leader Taj Mohi-u-Din was the chief guest on the opening ceremony. Other guests present on the occasion were Ranjit Kalra, Vice President JKTA, DN Pangotra President JKTA, KK Pangotra Legal Advisor IDPS, Jagjit Singh General Secretary JKTA, Nissar Hussain Vice President JKTA, Ramesh Chander Sharma Joint Secretary JKTA, Zaheer Abaas Treasurer JKTA, Ashok Singh Manager MA Stadium, Jaspaul Singh General Secretary Punjab Taekwondo Association, Vikas Gupta General Secretary JN Judo Association, Vinod Kumar, Makrand Mehta Sports Advisor IDPS and Indu Kapoor Coordinator JKTA.
