Jammu, Aug 20: With the arrest of two notorious bike lifters, R S Pura Police has recovered 16 motorcycles, which were stolen from different location in Jammu and Samba districts.
The accused have been identified as Vickey Kumar, son of Jeet Raj of Kothey Bure De, RS Pura and Vishal Kumar, son of Romesh Lal of Talli Morh, Miran Sahib.
During sustained questioning, the duo disclosed their involvement in different Motor vehicle theft cases in district Jammu and district Samba.
On their disclosure, the Police team succeeded to recover 16 motorcycles of different companies, stolen from different locations and valuing worth Rs 8 lakh approximately.
With this recovery, the Police of Sub-division R S Pura has solved nine MV theft cases, including seven cases of Police Station R S Pura and one case each of Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu and Police Station Ramgarh in District Samba. The investigation is in progress and more recoveries are expected.
The success in this regard was achieved under operation CHETAK, launched by Dr Sunil Gupta, SSP Jammu. A team, headed by SHO R S Pura, Inspector Bushan Singh Manhas, assisted by SI Askar Hussain and police officials from Police Station R S Pura, was constituted to recover Motor Vehicles stolen from different Police Stations of Sub-division R S Pura, under the supervision of SDPO R S Pura, S Harjeet Singh and R C Kotwal, SP Hqrs Jammu.

The District Police Jammu has appealed general public to visit its Facebook page AVTAR where many more recoveries and photographs of stolen vehicles have been pasted. These items have not yet been identified by the owners.
