JAMMU, May 17: Bishnah and Arnia police arrested two persons and recovered large quantity of illicit liquor from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bishnah police station laid a naka at Deoli and intercepted a scooter bearing registration number JK02M-4058.
During checking, police recovered 8 litres of illicit liquor from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Kewal Kumar, son of Sardari Lal, a resident of Kotli Charka, Bishnah.
Meanwhile, Arnia police also arrested a scooter rider along with 8 litres of illicit liquor.
The accused has been identified as Bittu, a resident of Salaid.
Cases under Section 48-A Excise Act have been registered at Bishnah and Arnia police stations against the arrested persons and investigation started.
Police teams led by SHO Bishnah Inspector PP Singh and SHO Arnia Inspector Satish Kumar made the arrests under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
