RAMBAN, Jan 20: A driver received critical injuries, when the truck he was driving plunged into deep gorge near Battery Chashma area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK14B-9369 carrying hardware material from Jammu to Srinagar plunged into 700 feet deep gorge near Battery Chashma on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, resulting into serious injuries to the driver.
After getting information, police team, Red Cross volunteers and army personnel from 23 RR rushed to the spot and after retrieving the injured driver from the gorge, shifted him to District Hospital Ramban and referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he was undergoing treatment, when reports last came in.
The injured driver has been identified as Sanjay Kumar (30), son of Darshan Kumar, a resident of Jib Thathi, district Udhampur.
Police has also taken cognizance in this regard.
