KATHUA, Jan 2: The sleuths of Excise and Taxation Department along with a team from Lakhanpur police station seized 430 kilograms of bhukki and arrested a truck driver.
As per official spokesman, the sleuths of Excise and Taxation Department along with a team from police station Lakhnapur under the guidance of Deputy Excise Commissioner Lakhnapur, Rajesh Sharma intercepted a truck bearing registration number HR37B-5455, which was on its way from Kashmir to Punjab at Toll Post Lakhnapur.
During checking, police recovered 430 kilograms bhukki from the truck and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Tanvir Ahmed, son of Noor Mohamed, resident of Batmaloo, Srinagar.
A case under NDPS Act has been registered at Lakhnapur police station and investigation started.
