RAJOURI, Aug 23: The police arrested a truck driver along with 3 kg of poppy straw and also seized his vehicle in Kalakote area today.
Official sources said that a police party from Kalakote, led by SHO Darshan Singh, under the supervision of ASP Nowshera, Atul Sharma during naka at Sailsui early today, intercepted a truck No. JK02X/ 9487 and during search recovered 3 kg bukki (poppy straw) from the vehicle. The police seized the consignment along with vehicle and arrested its driver.
The accused has been identified as Mohd Abbas, son of Mohd Bashir, resident of Andh village in Dharamsal area of Rajouri. A case FIR No. 62/ 2017 was registered against him at Kalakote Police Station. Further investigation was in progress.
