Tributes paid to Prem Nath Dogra on his 130th birth anniversary

JAMMU, Oct 24: The 130th birth anniversary of Sher-e-Duggar Pt. Prem Nath Dogra was celebrated with full fervour and gaiety here today. In this connection a function was organized at Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Chowk where a havan was also performed on the occasion.
The BJP leaders and prominent citizens on the occasion garlanded the statue of Panditji and prashad was distributed among the gathering.
BJP State President & MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, while remembering Panditji, said that he was a great leader and visionary who dedicated his life for the upliftment of downtrodden and spent every movement of his life for unity of State and its total integration with rest of the country.
Terming Mr Dogra a great leader Jugal said he was instrumental in leading Praja Parishad agitation, which ultimately culminated into success and it is high time to remember all those who have sacrificed their lives at the instance of Pt. Prem Nath Dogra for Ek Pradhan, Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan agitation.
Leader of Legislative Party Ashok Khajuria appealed the workers to follow the path of Late Panditji and maintain high standards of life by serving people selflessly as a political worker. He further appealed the Partymen to fight corrupt practices existing in the present system.
BJP Kashmir Cell National Co-Convenor Chander Mohan Sharma (Adv.), while addressing the gathering narrated the achievements of late Pt. Prem Nath Dogra and described him a tallest leader of his time in the State who led famous Praja Parishad Movement for total integration of J&K with India. It was Pt. Prem Nath Dogra who inspired Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee and leadership of Jana Sangh to join Praja Parishad agitation. Terming him a most respected personality, Sharma said Mr Dogra was equally respected by his political opponents.

Anil Gupta, Shiv Kumar Gupta, Surinder Bhagat, Bansi Lal Bharti, N.D. Rajwal, Yudhvir Sethi, S.S. Bijral, Vikram Randhawa, Sunil Dogra, Praduman Singh, Ayodhya Gupta, Balwan Singh, Gulshan Mahajan, Naresh Pradhan, Gurdyal Singh Bali, Kuldeep Kandhari, Baldev Singh Baloria, Jeet Angral, Omkar Singh Bose, Tarsem Choudhary, Vijay Sharma, Arvind Gupta, Vivek Gupta, Ravikiran Sharma, Munish Raja, Vipin Shastri, Kulbushan Mohtra, Ludharmani and others took part in the programme.
130th birth anniversary of Pt Prem Nath Dogra was also celebrated at Sarwa in Ramgarh area of district Samba in which BJP vice president Chander Parkash Ganga was the chief guest. A large number of BJP activists attended the function and paid floral tributes to the late leader. Mr Ganga threw light on the life history of Mr Dogra and the Praja Parishad movement launched by him.
Migrant Cell BJP also held a function at Muthi in which rich tributes were paid to Mr Dogra whom the speakers termed a great visionary and patriot by core. The function was chaired by president of the Cell Bharat Bushan Gosani.
