Tributes paid to martyr Mohan Lal Lakhotra

JAMMU, Dec 7:  To pay tributes to Vir Chakra awardee Lance Naik Mohan Lal Lakhotra on his 47th martyrdom day, a Shanti Havan and langar were organized at his native village Pouni Chack, here today under the supervision of Naib Sarpanch Ram Lal Lakhotra and Om Parkash Sargotra.
Addressing the Shardanjali Sabha, R L Kaith said Lance Naik Mohan Lal was a daring soldier of 8 JAKLI Siachen with an enviable record of combat experience. For displaying gallantry and determination of a high order in Indo-Pak war 1971, he was posthumously awarded the Vir Chakra.
Lance Naik Mohan Lal had stalled enemy from further advance, thereby enabling Indian troops to reorganize for a counter attack.
The Shardanjali Sabha was attended by a large number of youth, locals and school children of the area. Chhayan Devi, widow of Martyr Lance Naik Mohan Lal, his three sons: Havildar Paras Ram, Havildar Darshan Lal, Havildar Ghari Lal and a daughter: Poli Devi were also felicitated on the occasion.
