Tributes paid to Dr Ambedkar on 126th birth anniversary

JAMMU, Apr 14: Rich tributes were paid to Dr BR Ambedkar on his 126th birth anniversary.
Minister of State for Education and Tourism Priya Sethi today paid her tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar, principal architect of Indian Constitution, saying that Dr Ambedkar used his education to spearhead the cause of equality, fraternity and liberty and we should follow his example. Minister said this during a function organized to observe 126th birth anniversary at Shaheed Amar Nath Bhagat at Shalamar, here. On the occasion, students from Dr Ambedkar Convent School, Bantalab and Rajpura presented enthralling cultural performances communicating strong social messages.
To commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar, a programme was organised by Ministry of Handicraft and Textile, Government of India at village Datta Talab, District Samba. On the occasion, Chander Parkash Ganga, Minister for Industries and Commerce was the chief guest who declared the function open and also paid tributes to Dr Ambedkar. SDM Vijaypur, Branch Manager LIC (P&GS unit) Goutam Singh, RL Verma, Assistant Director Handicrafts, Jitender Bhat, LIC Manager, Sushma Devi, social worker, Rampaul Dogra, social activist, Darshan Lal, Mannu and many others were present on the occasion. On the occasion, ID cards were distributed to the beneficiaries under Pahchan campaign.
To remember the great works and contribution of Dr BR Ambedkar, impressive function was organized at village Kalyana by MLA RS Pura Constituency Dr Gagan Bhagat, wherein the Minister for Sheep and Animal Husbandry Er Abdul Gani Kohli was the chief guest. The participants paid tributes to Dr Ambedkar and highlighted his works, which he did for the upliftment of the down trodden people.
Minister of State for Transport, Revenue, Public Works (Roads & Buildings), Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Agriculture Production, YSS, Sunil Sharma while paying tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar, principal architect of Indian Constitution, said that Dr Ambedkar used his education to spearhead the cause of equality, fraternity and liberty and we should follow his example. The Minister said this during a function organized by Chenab Valley SC/ST Forum at Kishtwar. Many prominent members of the society were present on the occasion.
Political parties have only used Dr BR Ambedkar’s name for their vested political gains but never did anything to ensure that his dreams are fulfilled which the BJP is doing, BJP MP from Lok Sabha, Jugal Kishore Sharma said.  BJP MP was addressing a public rally in Akhnoor area on the conclusion of the party’s week-long programme “Samrasta Divas”, organized in connection with birthday of Dr BR Ambedkar. Jugal also addressed a rally at Chhamb. MP also sanctioned one bathing ghat for Dhok Khalsa village in Akhnoor constituency and one community hall for villages Sarmala in Chhamb constituency. MLAs Rajiv Sharma and Dr Krishan Lal Bhagat also spoke on the occasion.
Describing architect of the Constitution of India Dr B R Ambedkar as a great visionary, National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah said the legendary leader worked tirelessly to foster egalitarian society and shed caste discrimination in the country. “The people will always remember him for giving best Constitution in the world”, Dr Farooq Abdullah said while paying tributes to Baba Saheb at a function held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan. The function was organized by the NC SC Cell and its Co Chairperson Vijay Lochan, Provincial President, Devender Singh Rana, formers ministers Abdul Gani Malik and Abu Ram Paul, Chairman SC/BC Cell, Kashmir Singh Ex-MLC, State Vice President, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Provincial Secretary and Dr Chaman Lal Bhagat Ex-MLA highlighted the role of the great legal luminary in framing the Constitution of India.
Bahujan Samaj Party celebrated 126th birthday anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar. The function was presided over by Tarsem Khullar, State President BSP J&K and Raja Ram, MP Rajya Sabha, Coordinator J&K and West Bengal was the chief guest. SR Majotra, Hari Chand Thappa, KL Attri, R.L Chargotra, RK Bhagat and many others were present on the occasion.
On the occasion of 126th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr Bheem Rao Ambedkar, BJP Anusuchit Jaati Morcha under its State President and MLA Dr Davinder Manyal organized a programme at Trikuta Nagar office. BJP State President and MLA Sat Sharma, alongwith State General Secretary Dr Narinder Singh, Chief Whip and MLA Rajesh Gupta, Chhamb MLA Dr Krishan Lal Bhagat, senior leader and Morcha Prabhari Narsingh Dass Rajwal, State Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan and Morcha General Secretary Manohar Lal Rao laid wreaths at the portrait of Dr Ambedkar and paid their rich tributes.
To celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar, a programme was organized at village Jakhbar in District Kathua. MLA Kathua Rajiv Jasrotia was the chief guest, who along with others paid tributes to Dr Ambedkar and threw light on the life and teaching of Dr Ambedkar.
Shri Guru Ravi Dass SS Trust Sikanderpur alongwith socio-religious and other organizations of SC, ST and OBC Communities celebrated 126th birthday of Dr BR Ambedkar at Sukh Sagar Bhawan Sikanderpur under the aegis of Shri Shri 108 Swami Gurdip Giri Ji Maharaj. On the occasion, Kamal Arora, MLA, Yash Paul Kundal, Former Minister and Jahangir Mir, Deputy Chairman Legislative Council threw light on life and mission of Dr Ambedkar. CL Banal, Chairman of Trust also paid floral tributes to Dr Ambedkar and threw light on life and mission of Baba Saheb. The function started with Bhim Vandana being performed by the student of Shri Sai Public School Bahu Fort under the guidance of Krishna Bangotra, Director Tapasya Art Drama Party, Jammu. More than 50 presidents of branches of Guru Ravi Dass Sabha from village level to District level participated in the function and they were honoured with shawls by Shri Shri 108 Swami Gurdeep Giri Ji Maharaj.
To pay tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar, a function was organised at Thakar Duwara in Nowshera. The programme was organsed by BR Ambedkar Movement in which large number of people from different walks of life participated. On this occasion BJP senior leader and MLC Vibodh Gupta was the chief guest, who while speaking threw light on the life and teachings of Dr Ambedkar. Chairman BR Ambedkar Movement Sanam B Raina also addressed the gathering.
Ambedkar Club paid homage to Dr BR Ambedkar on his 126th birth anniversary at Dogra Sadar Sabha, Dogra Hall, here. The programme started with floral tribute and Bhim Vandana presented by students of Ambedkar Convent School, followed by a documentary on the life of Dr Ambedkar, a cultural programme, speeches and short play “The Dr Ambedkar  as a social reformer” presented by Anil K Bharti of Natraj Natak Kunj and directed by Mukesh.
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee paid tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar on his 126th birth anniversary in a function held at PCC Headquarters Shaheedi Chowk, here, which was presided over by the Former Minister and Vice-President J&K PCC Mula Ram and attended by several senior leaders of the party. Former Minister and Vice President PCC Raman Bhalla, Jahangir Mir Deputy Chairman LC, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, Kanta Bhan, Anil Chopra, PCC General Secretary Manmohan Singh, Ex-MLAs Gurbachan Kumari Rana, Indu Pawar, KC Bhagat, Prof Gharu Ram Bhagat, President PYC Pranav Shagotra, Gurdarshan Singh, besides many others paid floral tributes to Dr Ambedkar.
Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) held a programme at Ambedkar Chowk under the leadership of its Zonal President Neeraj Gupta. The participants paid tributes to Dr Ambedkar and threw light on his life and teachings. Jagdish Singh Baryal, Zonal Secretary, Joginder Singh, Onkar Singh, Sansar Charak, Ghulam Kadar Ding and many others were present on the occasion.
A function was organized by Nationalist Youth Congress (NYC), wherein State Youth President and Spokesperson NYC Er Rishi Kaul Kilam paid tributes to Dr Ambedkar and highlighted his contribution for the upliftment of the down trodden people. Among others who spoke were Amit Kumar Bhagat, Incharge SC Cell NYC, Vijay Kumar, Sanjay Rana, State President NSC, TK Kaul, Vice president NCP, RC Bali, Chairman Sewa Dal, KK Digra, Vice President NCP, Romesh Kumar Tehsil Incharge NYC.
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Northern Region Transmission System-II, Jammu celebrated the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar across its establishments in Northern Region-II. Painting, clay modeling, quiz, lecture competitions and various cultural programmes were organized in which the life and contribution of Dr Ambedkar was highlighted. In one such event organized at its Regional Headquarters in Jammu, RVS Kushwaha, General Manager (Asset Management) was the chief guest, while Sanjay Gupta, DGM (Finance), Shiv Jyoti Sharma, DGM (C&M), Dr JS Chouhan, Chief Manager (HR) and several officials of Power Grid alongwith their family members participated. Documentary on the life and vision of Dr Ambedkar was screened on the occasion. The programme ended with prize distribution among the winners of various competitions organized on the occasion.
Poonch Chapter of Jammu and Kashmir Reserved Categories Empowerment Alliance (JKRCEA) celebrated the birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar at Dak Bungalow Poonch. The function was presided over by Muhammad Asad Noomani, President JKRCEA and was attended by hundreds of people from across sections of society. Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Muhammad Harun Malik was the chief guest while Assistant Commissioner Development, Syed Zubair Hussain Shah was guest of honour. The participants paid tributes to Dr Ambedkar and threw light on his life and teachings.
Birth Anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar was celebrated at Government Model Higher Secondary School (Boys) Udhampur, in which the Principal, Ved Parkash Sharma was the chief guest. The participants paid tributes to Dr Ambedkar by garlanding the portrait of Dr. Amedkar. A symposium on the life of Dr Amedkar was organized in which various students participated.
A function was organized at VSK Higher Secondary School, Mishriwala to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar. Speeches and cultural programme were organized. PD Kesar, head of the institution threw light on the life and teachings of Dr Ambedkar.
Tributes were paid to Dr BR Ambedkar in a function organized by Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha at Rajpura Mangotrian. Paying rich tributes to Dr Ambedkar, Dev Raj Angral, Ex President, All India Angurana Biradari threw light on the life and achievements of Dr Ambedkar. President, Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, Rajpura Mangotrian Mandal Dass Dogra, President, All J&K Dalit Valmiki Samaj Dev Anand Gill and President Vishwakarma Sabha Gurha Morh Bakshi Nagar Vijay Kumar also expressed their views. Ramesh Angurana, General Secretary, Bishan Dass, Bansi Lal, Vijay Kumar Thapa, Madan Lal besides many others were present on the occasion.
Guru Ravi Dass Sabha RS Pura celebrated birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar. On the occasion, Sudesh Kumar President of the Sabha, Dr DD Shivgotra, Capt Fateh Chand, Bodh Raj, Pawan Kumar, Ramesh Kumar and Fakir Chand paid tributes to Dr Ambedkar and threw light on his life and teachings.
On the eve of 126th birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar, Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) Youth Wing organized a peace rally from LBA office to Polo ground. Hundreds of school children and general masses holding banner and ply card took part in the rally.  The chief guest on the occasion was Khamtak Jigmet Stanzin Wangpo, while guest of honour was Hill Council Chairman Dr Sonam Dawa. LBA Vice President PT Kunzang, LBA Youth Wing Vice President Konchok Stak, Executive Councilors, SSP Udhay Bhaskar Billa and many others were also present on the occasion. Students from different school presented colorful culture programmee. On the occasion Khenpo Konchok Phandey was awarded with Bharat Ratna Bhim Rao Ambedkar Award for his selfless motivation, altruistic approach and outstanding contribution towards the welfare of the people of Ladakh. Essay writing competition in Bhoti language was also organized among different age categories and winners will be felicitated during Buddha Jyanti festival.
Students of Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana celebrated Baisakhi festival and Dr BR Ambedkar Jayanti with enthusiasm. A special assembly was organized, wherein students presented cultural items. Principal Anita Bhatia highlighted the importance of moral values, culture, achievement and ethics in an individual’s life.
National Incredible Literacy Mission Jammu celebrated birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar at zonal headquarter Patel Bazaar here where students of NILM along with staff members were present. The participants highlighted the achievements of Dr Ambedkar. Rakeshwar Singh, Project Director NILM was the chief guest. Students also presented colorful programme. Kavita Bali, Vishal Sharma, Preeti Bajaj, Sakshi Dogra and Dolly Sharma were also present.
Shree Vishwakarma Library and Research Centre celebrated the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar by organizing a function under the chairmanship of RC Angotra, Convener. A large number of students and executive members took part in the function. BR Katoria, Educationist threw light on the life of Dr Ambedkar.
