‘Training of Trainers on Life Skills’ concludes

JAMMU, Aug 29: A week-long “Training of Trainers on Life Skills’ for resource persons /teachers of DIET, Leh concluded today.
The CEC, LAHDC, Leh, Rigzin Spalbar was chief guest on the occasion.
Organized by Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Regional Centre, Chandigarh in association with DIET, Leh, about 55 teachers attended the weeklong training in which renowned local resource persons/guest speakers were invited to infuse different life skills like communication skills, leadership skills etc among trainee teachers, who will later disseminate these valuable skills in  their respective schools and to teachers and students.
The content was based on five themes, each of which is divided into topics. The five themes were: Introduction to the concept of life skills and life skills education, life skills for knowing and living with oneself, life skills for knowing and living with others, life skills for communication, positive attitude, time management, water conservation, goal setting and decision making, life skills for leading a happy life, and application of life skills in their personal and professional life.
Addressing the concluding function, CEC said that the real benefit of this training will be realized only when these teachers will implement their skills practically in their respective schools and pass on their knowledge among their friend teachers at large level.
He instructed DIET to evaluate the impact of such trainings while visiting different educational zones. Earlier, briefing about the weeklong workshop, Stanzin Dawa urged upon the trainee teachers to make best out of this useful workshop.
Principal DIET, Konchok Wangmo highlighted the activities of DIET in improving the education standard.
